Terminal 21
People in Bangkok love to shop, and to satisfy this burning desire there is no shortage of grand shopping malls. Terminal 21 is a slick new mall opened in 2011 and what’s cool about this place is that besides the standard western brands, there are loads of local designers’ shops! Many of these moved from the legendary Chatuchak Market, and the layout emulates the small stalls you would get in the market, except not quite as chaotic of course. Genius! So you can find some cool clothes, jewellery and accessories all at good prices. To make it even more interesting each of the nine floors has a world location theme. The floors have various decorations, lighting, statues and sculptures all in theme. Starting at the lower ground is Caribbean with a gourmet food market and mainly other food places including MOS Burger from Japan. Ground floor is Rome which has the information desk where you can register to get free Wi-Fi, next Paris which connects directly to the BTS station, then Tokyo, London, Istanbul and then San Francisco complete with Golden Gate Bridge replica. The fifth floor is food which includes the Pier 21 food court where you can get cheap street food style eats. Lastly is Hollywood complete with giant Oscar and a cinema of course! Ever wondered what those hi-tech Japanese style toilets are like? You can find out here as every themed bathroom is equipped with heated seats toilet-tech! Check out the website where you can see the floor plans and cinema listings. www.terminal21.co.th/main Getting Here - The Asok BTS station has a skywalk directly into Terminal 21.
