Wat Indraviharn

A small but beautiful low-key wat dating from the 14th or 15th century. The big draw here is the impressive 32-meter high gold standing Buddha image, towering into the sky. It doesn't get so busy here; there are usually more locals praying than tourists. Just outside the grounds are a couple of good local street food stalls and ice-cream vendor, making it a great place to come for lunch. Entrance: Free, open daily 6:00am – 8:00pm Getting Here: Just on the edge of the Khao San Road area towards Dusit so should be walking distance or short tuk-tuk ride away (minimum fare). Address: Samsen Rd, Dusit, Bangkok
