Elephant Nature Park

The emphasis at this better-known sanctuary is on the care and rehabilitation of rescued and 'damaged' elephants as well as many other animals. There are no shows - no rides. Visits to Elephant Nature Park are mainly structured for one-day trips, and you can choose from a variety of organised day trips; see their website for full details of options. The day visits cost 2,500B, including lunch and pickup/drop off from their office in the old city. Your day will commence with a one-hour scenic trip through the countryside to Elephant Nature Park, where you will visit the elephants in their natural habitats, feed them from platforms, observe them roaming as a herd in their new home, happy and free from abuse. Listen to the stories of rescued and orphaned elephants and how they came to be there. You can also stay overnight, and there are arrangements for visitors to work as volunteers while learning about these beautiful animals and their lives.
