Wat Samret

The first thing you will encounter at this small temple is a large decorated gate. Inside the temple, some interesting Buddha images reflect the beauty and tranquillity of the island. The most interesting of these is a unique and unusual image that was crafted from a beautiful piece of white jade, given to one of the founding monks when he made a pilgrimage to Sri Lanka. Other unusual images to be found here have been cast from reclaimed coral. All of them are "one-offs". Although not particularly special, this tranquil temple stands out because of its array of unique Buddha images. The temple is located on ring road Route 4169. It is south-west of Lamai beach, about 1 kilometre after Hinta Hinyai before you reach Huathanon village, and well worth stopping off on your way to Wat Khunaram. Open: During daylight hours and entrance is free.
